We’ve considered the client in this decision, as well. Most of our “textbooks” are from the popular press. We will supply you with the ISBN numbers so you may either purchase your books through the MUW book store or you may purchase them through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders or any bookseller from which you feel comfortable purchasing a book. Look to your syllabi to locate the necessary information (ISBN, title and author). Our text books will be easy to purchase and we recommend you consider e-text versions of these books.
What do I need to understand to be a successful online student?-
The adjustment to online learning is demanding and requires many of our clients to change the way they have studied in the past. To help you make this transition as smoothly as possible, we’ve found some solid advice:
Prioritize your life. Identify the most important things in your life and execute accordingly. Upon entering V3, you will need to reorganize that list and put your education at the top. Remember, it is education that will allow you to get what you want out of life!
Become a Project Manager. What does that mean? It means that you are in charge of this project called your education. A project has a limited life. It has a beginning, a middle and an end. The end is where you want to be – a graduate!
Plan your workload accordingly. Always check your schedule and ask yourself, am I on schedule? Am I on time? Am I on track? These questions will allow you to stay ahead of the game.
Time is King! There are only 24 hours in the day and you will need all 24. In fact, you will probably ask for an additional two hours in the day. Unfortunately, we have no way of getting you those extra two hours. You have a limited amount of time to accomplish the things you need to accomplish. This is why you plan and prioritize. Find ways to utilize every minute of every day. Utilize flash cards and any other study method you can to make the information your own.
Find a method to manage your time. Review your daily, weekly and monthly schedule. Find those blocks of time in which you can utilize to strengthen your skill sets, work your research projects, and study your materials.
It is important that you find a space in which you may immerse yourself – a quiet and positive atmosphere in which you can concentrate and relax while you study.
