3D Engagement
3D Engagement embraces the individual learning styles of the client by stimulating the imagination, emotions, senses, and intellect by wholly immersing the client in uniquely shaped and communicated content via appropriate digital media for the expressed intent of transforming the client into an active learner.
As the definition and description of 3D Engagement suggests, we must seek to touch the client’s emotions, senses, and intellect by immersing him or her in the depth of content. The content presented in our courses must, therefore, be deeper in content and experience than the benchmark, the textbook. Textbooks are resources for the client. The content is uniquely shaped to be useful and applicable to the client. Faculty members will explain the value of the course to the client. All components of the course are learning opportunities for the client.
The use of digital media will mimic the theatre, film and television industries by utilizing all of their tricks, sound tracks, and content shaped to elicit an emotional reaction through telling stories and myths. Call this "edutainment". These are technologies in which the client has had long-term relationships. Like painting, there must be contrasts, highlights and shadows, brightness and darkness, valleys and peaks. The use of these techniques, and the eliciting of responses from the client through contact with the faculty and digital media, will transform the passive learning client into an active learner.
